In our series Botanika combines the art of botanical illustration with traditional tile making. Selected plant illustrations, which according to their origin as watercolors, pastels or engravings mostly served purposes of science, are fused into a glass glaze.
The ceramic underneath forms a natural craquelure effect that makes the plant motifs above look incredibly vivid. The slightly irregularly shaped, softly rounded tiles of terracotta bring the historic motifs of lovingly painted flowers, cacti, grasses and herbs in radiant colors to new prominence.

Design
The peculiarity of our Botanika series lies in the combination of traditional tile making and historical scientific illustrations of the plant world. The hand-molded character of the tiles with two glazes, ceramic and glass on terracotta, harmonizes with the originality and naturalness of the motifs, painted by artists and researchers of earlier times with great attention to detail and connection with nature.
Quality
The motifs are applied to the tiles by hand and fused into the upper glaze at temperatures around 800 degrees in the ceramic kiln. Largely underneath the motif, a craquelure effect forms during the cooling phase. This gives each tile a rustic, handmade character with radiant colors of the motif. Please take into account that slight color deviations from the image representation are possible. The print is scratch and heat resistant.
Application
Our tiles from the Botanika series work all around as a decorative object, optionally as an eye-catcher on a table, shelf or dresser. In addition, with our suspension, you can easily attach the tiles as a wall decoration. Since it is a ceramic firing, the tiles are basically also suitable for a useful application in the kitchen and bathroom. We deliver our products carefully packed and shockproofed in the shipping boxes with filler. Your order will go on its journey optimally protected.
